DIY: Go green with super-power juice recipes
All natural nutrients, in a glass, on the go

Sometimes we need that pick-me-up. It’s far too easy to reach for another cup of coffee (or a glass of wine after 5 pm) but these vices can sometimes be more damaging than uplifting. The same applies to honoring a balanced diet. Meal times can become a blur throughout the week and when we’re forcing ourselves to choke something down in light of the hour, or feeling that emptiness from a skipped meal, the quick-fix, convenience factor tempts us yet again, this time with fast food and sweets.

But the body, as a living functioning instrument, promises to have a say. If it’s not treated right, we wind up with low or plunging energy levels, a clogging of our bodily functions from pores to intestines, reoccurring bloating and sickness, a delay on cognitive function, and the side effects go on. Amidst some health struggles of my own I began the pursuit for sustainable wellbeing and wholesome living. That pursuit is ongoing and comes in many shapes and forms. In terms of nourishing my body and finding the true fountain of youth in a quick fix package, I am a HUGE advocate of “going green” in the drink department. I’ve found the micro nutrients in veggie-rich blends to be a critical component to controlling my body’s inherent inflammation. Moreover, these all-natural energy drinks utilize garden grown nutrients gifted from Mother Earth herself. It’s the most manageable means of getting our daily dose of fruits and veggies when we need it most.

These recipes are five-step simple:

(Smoothies)
Apple
Spinach
Celery
Cucumber
Avocado
* If you don’t have latex sensitivity like myself, try adding banana for a natural thickener and sweetener

(Juice)
Cucumber base
Celery
Kale
Lemon
Ginger
*The exact measurement of each ingredient can be tailored to your specific tastes, allowing you to create the perfect balance for your palate and body composition. Our bodies have their own chemistry and in tuning in and adopting juicing habits, we can successfully keep that chemistry in balance.

When I’m adding these minute meals to my routine, my body responds with super powers: reducing bloating, clarifying my skin, providing genuine energy and balance, a clear head and support during activity. It also helps bowels keep up a two-a-day bathroom routine which is inherently important to our health and wellbeing. Suddenly TMI (widely known as “Too Much Information”) refers to “Treat Your Insides”, damn it! Treat yourself to something real. Your body will thank you.

With all of this said and it being the beginning to my new year (yes I am turning 35) I am now challenging myself to show up daily with a renewed inspiration for health!! Please hold space for me along the way as I will do for you if ever needed!!

Best, BB
